Timber decking

BeforeAfterGlebe’s terraces were built as compact homes close to city work and transport. Generations later, their ironwork, balconies and narrow frontages still give these streets much of their character. When the outside of an older home begins to show years of weather, bringing those details back can make all the difference.
For this Glebe terrace exterior repaint, the client wanted a fresh, modern colour scheme within a clear budget. We focused on the street-facing areas with the greatest impact: preparing and repainting the masonry, trim, decorative balustrade and front metalwork, then refinishing the timber deck. OC Carpentry & Building replaced the deteriorated balcony; Proview handled the preparation and painting.
Each surface needed the right finish. We used Dulux Metalshield on the exposed metalwork for rust protection, Dulux Weathershield on the exterior walls and trim for weather resistance, and Intergrain UltraDeck on the timber decking to cope with weather and foot traffic. Ironstone gives the metal details definition, grey settles the walls, and Lexicon Quarter brightens the windows and upper doors.
The result keeps the terrace’s familiar character while giving it a quieter, more contemporary look. The client was pleased with the finish, and the home has stronger street appeal.
